On this episode of Little Black Boots we visit what I like to call "sand meets the streets" style. As an Orange County native and former San Diego resident, I can't help but have this innately in me. The funny thing is I wouldn't consider myself hyper beach-y or city which is why my need for both is so necessary.

I love the laid-back, effortless vibe of beach wear. Long and flowy wins the race. However, I also need the edge and that comes along with city style. But that's what's so great about fashion. Your personality definitely shines through and you can wear every element of it.

For this outfit I am wearing a dress by O'Neill that looks flattering on literally every body type. A cinch waist will never do you wrong. I also couldn't leave my house without my OVERT backpack that has been glued to me since my trip to San Francisco last week. Being able to fit my laptop, an optional sweater, and the chaos that consumes my purse into one space is a literal dream. It's the little things in life!

Urban Outfitters Fall 2015

True or False: This outfit elicits your craving for a pumpkin spice latte. And hey- I don't blame ya! Fall is all about layering, warm colors, cozy knit sweaters, and overpriced cups of coffee.

One of my favorite places to shop is and has been Urban Outfitters. Literally since I was a teen who begged my mom to buy me a tank top, scarf headband- anything!! They are always ahead of the trends and continuously inspiring. Every bit of this outfit has elements that I adore which means it's a strong contender for heavy duty outfit rotation.

I'm looking forward to what the rest of fall/winter will bring. But I am not so happy with this daylight savings business. Let's soak up the sun while we still can ladies!!

The other day my boyfriend told me that I "looked good" which in boy terms means "nice outfit!" It made me giggle because little did he know I executed my outfit-hack which is reserved for when I don't know what to wear. Enter: the jumpsuit. It's the easiest way to look like you tried with the least amount of effort, and in my case, come to the rescue when you have 5 minutes to get dressed. I personally like having an arsenal of various colors, silhouettes, and textures. The next step would be adding your accessories and shoes aka the fun part!

This turquoise dream is by bebe. I didn't need to do much because this jumpsuit already did all the work for me. I was drawn to the hammered gold accents and neck detail. Bebe is one of those brands that has been around for so long and makes me think of women who are confident, unique, and luxe. I firmly believe that when you feel good in what you're wearing it translates tremendously through your demeanor. So I'm all for supporting clothing brands that do just that!

A Lace & Whiskey Courtship

I've never identified with the label of being a "creative type" for many reasons. The main probably being that I didn't equate having an interest in fashion as qualifying to do so. Recently I've revisited the term and realized that being creative is such a general label that can literally relate to everything from fashion to art to music to hair, makeup, interior design- the list goes on and on!

Growing up I had very little interest in sports or art. I got good grades, socialized, and kept my head down for the most part. Now as a full blown adult I can't help but take pause towards what I do for work. And yes, it's creative!

I think this self-reflection came about because I've fallen into little ruts of feeling uninspired lately. In order to combat these unwelcome feelings, I'm making it a point to focus on the things that really make me happy. I've already made changes in my life to help me do so and I couldn't be more excited about the rest of the year. Speaking of exciting, I can't get enough of this amazing dress by Lace & Whiskey. Sometimes all you need to do is throw on one of your go-to pieces and all your favorite accessories to feel zen again.
