some kind of wonderful

This past weekend was the birthday of our beloved USA. If there's something you should know about me, it is that I love me a long weekend. So many days to sleep in it's criminal. My college bestie and roommate throughout 90% of my San Diego years came down to visit for the weekend. Not only was it amazing seeing her, but it also spawned a SDSU reunion with my other college homies. There was some beach time and lots of beer guzzling. Also got to shoot at this amazing location wearing this skirt from Largo Drive that I have been dying for! Aside from the happy times, I did encounter a major bummer. If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen my emo post, but just in case you didn't I'll give you the cliffnotes. After going to a museum in Westwood (yes I was incredibly confused and undoubtedly don't understand art) my boyfriend and I went to eat at a restaurant. By mistake we left his camera behind and returned to it being stolen. Quite possibly one of the most gut wrenching feelings I've felt in a while. Of course things like this happen sometimes and that is just life rearing it's ugly head. It can't always be rainbows and lollipops. But god damn! There has been a lot more clouds than rainbows lately. Thankfully material possessions can be replaced and far greater tragedies happen every day. So we are chalking this up to bad luck with a bit of carelessness...and a heavy dose of some stranger's greed. And so, we keep on keepin' on. Brighter days are ahead!

  6. It's horrible losing a camera. The best thing that I have ever stolen from me was my Gameboy Color, not the same, but it was also precious to me. Hope your days get better than they are now, just keep your head up until you see the rainbows. About your look, I love the maxi dress. I mean the slit is just perfect and paired with the tank, it's just pure cuteness. ♡

  10. Jill, these photographs are amazing from the angles to the sunlight to the framing. Your attention to styling details, like the choker with the pendant necklace, is always so beautiful. Bravo!

Totally sucks about the camera and photos lost. May the thief burn in you-know-where >:/
