I am currently in food coma recovery mode after the last two days which were filled with an intense amount of food. I ain't complaining. It's nice to get food other than Postmates for a change!! This year was different because we now have my insanely cute and squishy niece Caroline! I seriously can't stop kissing her chubby cheeks and trying to make her laugh. I definitely am already gaining the reputation of spoiling her but I. Can't. Help myself!! 

Since Christmas is officially over I am now laser focused with New Year's and wrapping up 2016. 

This year was hectic for most. I was no exception. But it was also a huge year of growing for me. I will enterally be grateful for that.

Puerto Vallarta: Modeliste Magazine

A couple weeks ago I ventured south of the border with my babes Racquel Natasha, Jessi Malay, and Modiste Magazine. We spent four days at the amazing Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta. Picturesque doesn't even begin to describe it. 

From the moment I arrived it was top notch service. I was greeted with a glass of champagne and then proceeded to pick out what type of pillow I wanted plus the fragrance for my room. To make matters even more grand I indulged in a welcome back massage...I MEAN.

Some of you may have caught my room tour on Snapchat (username: LILBLACKBOOTS!) which was filled with pure joy. Everything from the chilled bottle of champagne waiting for me to    balcony and beach front views was everything. Every night I came back to more chocolate and drinks for two. Which brings me to the hilarious point that I constantly felt like I was on a romantic getaway but unfortunately was...alone. Haha. The first night I came back to a bubble bath covered in rose petals. YOU GUYS. Where's my boyfriend when I needed him?! But don't worry, I slipped into that bath and had a romantic night watching the O.J. show. 

I think my favorite part of the trip would have to be the dinner on the beach at La Palapa. Literally the most delicious meal I've had in a while. Let's just say every plate was cleared. 

Without skipping a beat we all hopped on a plane back to California to jump straight into Coachella. Needless to say it was an intense week. Stay tuned for my Coachella recap coming real soon including details about all the outfits I wore that weekend!

How is it December already?! Currently listening to *Nsync "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" on repeat. What can I say...I'm festive! And a sucker for nostalgia. I had the best Christmas' growing up which is why this is by far my favorite holiday. I like to think of it as Thanksgiving on crack. I love when the entire city gets covered with lights and silly inflatable reindeers. Nothing screams California Christmas quite like a twinkle lit wrapped palm tree. Ever since I was a licensed teen, I was relentless in getting tons of presents for my brothers, little cousins, aunts, uncles- you name it. By that time, my mom was burnt out from years of running around from mall to mall trying to get everything on our list to Santa on top of being a full-time wife, mother, and business owner. Thus, my career as a personal shopper began. I didn't even care if I myself got anything. I was just so focused on making sure my family was taken care of because I love seeing people get excited by a gift. I know my obsession with making sure everyone was showered in presents was because Christmas was so magical growing up for me. I was obsessed with trying to keep that feeling alive. Now that I'm older, I still love this holiday but my priorities have definitely shifted. Christmas gifts in my family have definitely become secondary. Our lives are busy and we're separated by distance so it's just a treat to all be in the same room. It's a very liberating feeling to not expect anything and to genuinely not care. Am I officially a grown up now?

I am SO excited to share with you the amazing project I filmed last month with my oh-so-talented friend Jenn Im of Clothes Encounters! She has her very own show with Refinery 29 where she gets to raid some of her favorite closets. I am super honored to be a part of this series as well as the very first episode! We had a blast rummaging through my things and of course taking many breaks to giggle our heads off.

one last golden hour

The last couple of weeks, days, hours, have brought on some new changes. I chopped a ton of my hair off, which may not be very obvious, but for someone who is used to having an insane mane- it was pretty traumatic. I am still getting used to being 5 inches lighter. The other major change would be the fact that my other half has moved away for 3 months to El Salvador. For the past 3 years of our relationship, I've been waiting for this day to come. I always knew he would be gone for give or take a year for the last leg of his grad program. He now will be gone for 6 months total so I kind of scored a bit. He left today on a plane at 7am. In preparation for his departure I think we stayed awake for 24 hours straight. So yah man, I slept all day today. I cried last night and I cried at the airport. But I'm a big girl and have for sure put on my big girl pants. Tomorrow I'm going to Magic in Vegas and then am going to FYF this weekend. Lots of engagements that I am grateful for. Distractions! So cheers to soaking in these last few weeks of summer!
