getty, set, go!

Happy hump day! Kicked it off with the video I did with Refinery29 going live- fun! I filmed it about 6 weeks ago and have been anxiously awaiting its debut. Video is new territory for me so I always get a bit nervous to see the final results. It came out V cute so I'm a happy little bird. If you get a chance, I would love if you could check it out here!

The rest of my day included going more blonde (I feel a little bit like Jlo) and the valet losing my keys. Haha yes- they lost my keys. It was a happy ending after an Uber ride home and many phone calls later but what I found most interesting was how not phased I felt throughout the whole debacle. My stress level usually blows the roof off when stuff like this happens but I stayed surprisingly calm and laughed at the situation. Dare I say, I've grown? Has my mother's cool as a cucumber vibe finally been passed down to her offspring? Well, I sure as hell hope so!

There's nothing quite like the feeling of your own bed. Can I get an AMEN?! The majority of this past week was spent on not so familiar mattresses but for good reason. I ventured out to the desert to shoot a fun lookbook that I will be posting about over the next few months. Let's just say shooting for fall in 100 degree weather is as hard as it sounds. I also noticed that heat brings out the kindergartener in people- suddenly everyone needs a mid-day nap. 

On top of my desert diva trip I also headed down south to my old stomping grounds- San Diego! I haven't been back in a couple years and especially haven't explored the neighborhoods I used to frequent in even longer. It's strange how a place can feel so different yet exactly the same as you remember it. Like time stood still but just added 10 blocks of high-rise apartments and 5 billion craft beer restaurants. 

Until we meet again Southern California freeways and my little mini road trips. I have a feeling I'll be seeing you again very soon.

Has anyone seen March? I'm not quite sure where it went...! Holy moly time is flying by. The temperatures are heating up (even more) which is a problem because I still haven't gotten the air conditioner in my car fixed. It's like every day I have my own personal sauna on wheels. Not enjoyable. 

My goal in the next couple of weeks is to finally make my way to the beach. I've had a yearning to just sink my toes into the sand and acquire awkward tan lines. I have a few one-piece suits, including this one by Volcom, that are screaming for some salty air. On the pursuit of happiness!

Oh Valentine's Day...some people hate you, some love you, and some are like me and just look at it as an excuse to eat more chocolate. I've never gotten worked up about this holiday or most holidays for that matter. The tiny rebel that lives inside of me doesn't like being told how to feel on designated dates. I think it can be a nice reason to get extra cuddly with your cutie if you have one but I also don't see it as life crushing if you're single. It makes me sad when I see people get really down on themselves if they aren't in a relationship. Not to get too corny but I think the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Everything after that kind of just falls into place. My boyfriend is currently driving across the country right now so today I plan on running errands, finally unpacking, and apartment hunting. Now does that scream romance or what?! So whether you're single or have a boy toy by your side, I would like to send an extra dose of love from me to you! ::millions of heart emojis::

seasons change

I'm back home in Orange County because holy pumpkin spice latte it's already Christmas! Last night my friends and I celebrated our annual cookie decorating party. It's basically us drinking a ton of wine and clumsily smearing frosting over gingerbread men. Always a good time. I'm looking forward to spending the rest of the week home. Even though it's only an hour away from LA, it feels like a whole different world. It's a great escape for me and very welcomed right now. Now off to some last minute shopping because it wouldn't be Christmas without me having small panic attacks.

Happiest of holidays to my lovely readers! I hope you spend it surrounded by the ones you love. Now go eat guilt free because it's a celebration ya'll! xx

My jacket collection has grown quite a bit this winter. Although not the most practical, or necessary, a girl wants what a girl wants, you feel meh? This shaggy gorilla has been a definite favorite. I sometimes feel like Cruella de Vil is my fashion spirit animal. I repeat, strictly fashion. I love puppies. I'd take 101 of them. But I also like big outerwear so we have that in common. Enough of my rambling for today. Until we meet again my sweets.

I am SO excited to share with you the amazing project I filmed last month with my oh-so-talented friend Jenn Im of Clothes Encounters! She has her very own show with Refinery 29 where she gets to raid some of her favorite closets. I am super honored to be a part of this series as well as the very first episode! We had a blast rummaging through my things and of course taking many breaks to giggle our heads off.

above the weather

This week I've been sick. My absolute least favorite pastime. I'm not dying with a fever which is why I can't justify laying in bed watching trashy reality T.V. all day. I'm a functioning sick person which is probably why I'm not shaking this damn cough! On a far more interesting note, can we talk about these bells? PYLO is where it's at when it comes to affordable, well-made bells in ugh-mazing prints. The problem I've run into when trying on anything other than Novella Royale bells, is that the flare is pretty non-existent. They end up looking like pajamas or yoga pants. And that ain't cute. So as of now, bell bottoms rule my life and fill my closet. I'm hoping this love affair never ends!
