LBB Lust List: Louise et Cie

FINALLY, the temperatures have started to drop. Well, somewhat. This is still LA after all so warmth is our middle name. Basically I am able to wear leather jackets again which is a huge win. Coming off a full month of traveling to super hot, humid destinations (Tokyo, Bali, Singapore, Jakarta, New York, oh my) it's a very welcomed relief when I feel that dry breeze. 

Tropical weather makes me want to wear flowy pieces, prints, and sandals galore. But when it comes to fall- leather, boots, and tons of dark/neutral colors reign supreme. 

Before most of what I owned was slouchy and littered with fringe. Contrary to past habits, I find myself gravitating more towards structured accessories especially when it comes to bags. This bag by Louise et Cie is a perfect example of a style that you will see incorporated into a lot of my looks this season. Now, on to the boots. My love for this type of footwear is clearly no secret. But how to make the familiar different? EASY. This pair by Louise et Cie showcases two great ways to add some twists: color blocking and an open toe. Subtle differences that really change the vibe of an outfit.

Lust List: High Waist Bikinis

This month I have a lot of fun travel plans that include wearing bikinis x million. I love soaking up the sun near any body of water but I don't consider myself much of a bikini babe. I have never felt entirely comfortable in them. Cue my not-so-secret, secret weapon: The high waist bikini!

Now don't get me wrong, I am no modest mouse, but there is something about covering my belly button that puts me at ease.

I've never been one to plan super far ahead. I love spontaneity and surprises. But sometimes this little habit of mine bites me in the booty when it comes to New Years. Case in point: I have no clue what I'm doing for New Year's Eve. 

For those of you that are older/out of college, I'm sure you can relate to the fact that it is SO difficult to rally all your friends to commit to one plan as you get older. I semi-attempted to get a trip together a month ago that ended with much fail. But with that said, New Year's shouldn't be a huge ball of stress. Much like life and relationships, it all will work out! So, for that magical night you're bound to have, I've put together another Nasty Gal must-have list of pieces to wear while you welcome 2016 (pssst...my outfit is on sale!). I still cannot believe Christmas is next week. I think that exact sentence is a common thing we all say, well, just about every year. The holidays really have a tendency to sneak up on you!! I correlate this to getting older. When I was younger each day leading up to Christmas felt like a long, agonizing journey. When you're older and trying to keep your head above water- those days fly by! 

But this year is pretty stress free for me. A lot of my family will be out of town or working so it shall be a mellow occasion. But New Year's on the other hand...oh boy. No clue what I'm doing there. Of course we waited too late in the game and everywhere we want to go costs about a million dollars/night. I am not even exaggerating. (ok i am) But nonetheless, so pricey! Wish me luck that my wish to escape LA for the New Year comes true :)

wild thing

This weekend, albeit painfully chilly, was pretty productive. I finally saw "Catching Fire" which was obviously the highlight. No but seriously, how good is that movie?! I'm caving and reading Mockingjay because I'm not going to even pretend for a minute that I can wait another year for the next movie. Another highlight was the For Love & Lemons sample sale this morning. All the credit goes to my amiga for dragging me out of bed when all I wanted to do was stay hidden beneath my little nest of blankets. Twas so painful, but oh so worth it. Speaking of worth it, this outfit from Lindsay Lou has been on heavy rotation. Everyone needs to own a pair of black bells. I have two and don't really wear anything else. Oops.

The holidays are fast approaching and I'm doing my usual "I can't believe it's almost Christmas" routine. But for real, I can't believe it's almost Christmas?! With the holidays coming, outfits are obviously needed for various parties of the cookie-decorating and cocktail-drinking variety. This year I'm doing it Nasty Gal style.
