street talk

Such a sucker for white lace. Whoever said it was matronly did not see the plunging neckline of this dress. Spent another day playing tourist and this time hit the mean streets of Chinatown. I've had a boba with the boyfriend there but never really explored. When I think of Chinatown, I imagine the one in San Francisco where the streets are jammed packed and there are a smorgasbord of smells in the air - exactly how you want your Chinatown to be! Although this one has much more sidewalk space for my taste, there of course was some charm with the red lanterns and the necessary koi pond.

Speaking of necessary, I recently received a long overdue hair makeover thanks to Bianca Hillier over at Sally Hershberger Salon. I like to think of her as my hair angel sent down from heaven. If you need your hair colored, she is definitely your girl! Let's just say she knows her sh*t. You're welcome in advance!

I am definitely a sucker for a good muscle tee. I wear them constantly, which is funny because I never wear regular tees. That extra few inches of fabric just don't do it for me. I also recently received some amazing pieces from my favorite jewelry designer, Vanessa Mooney! Lucky ducky, I know. So in love with my concho belt bracelet. I'll be posting about my other gems soon, so stay tuned. For now, I'm looking forward to this week of visiting my mama and seeing my best friends back in Orange County. YIP-EE.

sunday funday

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I had an incredibly ambitious Sunday which began by hitting the Rose Bowl Flea Market. I was way too hot to dig for treasures and became increasingly cranky. Just ask him - poor guy. But there's nothing like some great vintage dresses and a buttery leather jacket to lift your spirits. Fast forward to late afternoon when we caught the last day of the Helmut Newton exhibit. It was incredible of course. Definitely must take advantage of free experiences like that more often!

I also have a new story up on Refinery 29 from yet another shopping pit stop we made that day. Check it out to see my survival tips!

sweet as pie

So happy that I was finally able to wear this silky little number by Gypsy05. The long sleeves alone took it out of the running for quite some time during this Indian summer. Even on this particular day I was pushing it. Fall, where art thou? My new obsession, other than hats, hats, and more hats - is backpacks. This amazing forest green one from W Concept is my new scoot around town best bud. Strapped it on for a visit downtown last weekend. In case I hadn't made it painfully clear before, I love sugar. So not surprisingly, I was filled with glee when I got to try The Pie Hole in downtown LA. Finding a place to sit was about as hard as choosing which pies to devour. They of course were sinfully good, but I'm not sure your entire meal should consist solely of pie. Even I have boundaries.
