Socks With Sandals: Louise Et Cie

posted on: Friday, December 16, 2016

For the month of December I want to focus on a trend I have loved for a while yet have executed very, and I mean very, sparingly. What ever do I mean? Yep, you guessed it- socks with sandals!

The great thing about this trend is it can be used all year long. In the summertime think platform sandals, polk-dot socks, and cute minis. For fall it’s all about adding another layer to a great layered look.

A look like this can take you from meetings, to dinner, to drinks with friends. It’s so fun to finally be able to layer and stay cozy this winter so I am taking full advantage and of course needed to add my accessories of choice by Louiseet Cie. For this outfit I paired sheer ankle socks with piping detail with my Louise et Cie heels and bucket bag. Since I have a lot of black going on- I broke it up with a white sweater and camel vest for contrast.

I am loving wearing socks with sandals, heels, you name it! Can’t wait to play with this trend more. A silk maxi dress perhaps next time? (yassss)

New Year's Resolutions with Express

The new year is quickly creeping around the corner which means it's almost that time where we reflect on what has been and what is to come. But before we do all that...what to wear?

New Year's could not be more up my alley with the abundance of black, leather, and gold. Did I mention gold? This month I'm partnering with Express to salute my favorite color palette in anticipation of 2017.

When getting dressed I like to start off with a hero piece and base everything else around it. For this outfit, the star is definitely my Express gold blouse. Similar, and equally amazing, tops can be found here and here. Since my top is settled, let's get to the bottom of this. Literally.

For this outfit I'm not showing any skin up top so I decided to pair the blouse with a faux leather mini skirt. Alternatively, a fitted maxi with a slit would look amazing as well. For a little extra shine I took a detour from my usual leather jacket to one of the patent leather variety. And I have to say...it was such a fun change!

This is the time to be bold, daring and end 2016 with a bang so try some styles you haven't before. I'm really excited for the future and what's to come so stay tuned for my year-end recap and thoughts about what these past 12 months have meant to me!

Sometimes a dress comes along, makes you fall in love at first glance, and completely sweeps you off your feet.

I wore this mini to two events this month already (ssshhh don't tell anyone) and it definitely needs to be in everyone's closet! It's the perfect amount of sweet, sexy, and sassy. And pink velvet? Game over.

I can't believe it's already mid December. Time never fails to fly by and blow my mind. I'm managing to keep my head above water amiss the mountain of things on my to-do list. It almost feels like the calm before the storm to be honest.

So hopefully you babes are conquering the holidays so far. Remember to take deep breaths, make your loved ones the priority, and that online shopping is your bff.

Handbags To Love: Radley London

Handbags used to be very low on my list of priorities. But then I wised up and realized how much they really add to an ensemble! And you guys, I am not exaggerating when I say I really didn't care. I would wear a bag until they had literal holes that various chapsticks, loose change, and pens would go missing for days.

So today I want to introduce you to one of my current favorite brands: Radley London

I fell in love with the brand because they create handbags that are classic, structured, but with an edge. Some of my favorites include:

The rise of the handbag has definitely made a strong appearance this year. When it comes to where to invest, I break it down to three key items: jeans, handbags, and shoes

What they all have in common is they can be worn multiple times and rotated between outfits constantly. It's a win, win people!

So grab your Radley London bag, meet your ladies at brunch, and feel cute AF while doing it.

Revolve: Grlfrnd Denim

I've been getting a lot of compliments on this particular pair of denim and I am not surprised- they are ugh-mazing!

So definitely need to give credit where credit is due. I've talked about them in a previous post but twice is always nice. My current go-to when it comes to jeans is GRLFRND denim from Revolve

The fits and cuts are so perfectly flattering and on trend. When it comes to jeans I usually have to concede on something whether that be a droopy crotch or a waistline that doesn't exactly fit. But with GRLFRND? Nah.

They don't get baggy after one wear, the waist fits like a dream, and the crotch is anything but sad and saggy.

My closet is filled with far too many ill fitting pieces that just collect dust. It's no surprise that I wear the same few pairs on heavy repeat. So, I am making a conscious effort not to go for any old pair. Be picky! Clutter is the enemy! Ok end rant.

Below I have listed my outfit deets + 5 of my current favorite GRLFRND pieces. Hope you love them as much as I do!
